Michaelmas 2000

  • 9 October 2000 – CSLD squash. (Trinity)
  • 16 October 2000 – Lembit Opik MP, Lib Dem Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, on asteroids, followed by curry afterwards. (King’s)
  • 27 October 2000 – Pub crawl through the Houses of Parliament,  jointly held with Oxford University Liberal Democrats.
  • 1 November 2000 – Andrew Duff OBE MEP. (Corpus Christi)
  • 14 November 2000 – CSLD annual dinner with Susan Kramer, former Lib Dem candidate for Mayor of London. (Jesus)

  • 2001 general election campaign.
  • 7 June 2001 – Polling day in the general election. Cllr. David Howarth contested the seat for the Liberal Democrats for the second time, increasing the poll to 10,737 votes (25.10%), and moving from third place to second of eight candidates. The Labour majority was halved to 8,579.
  • June 2001 – CSLD garden party.
